On the night of 13/03/2025, the Narcotics Control Department, District Office, Netrokona Team and Bangladesh Army, Netrokona Camp set up a joint check post in the Rajur Bazar area of the district and conducted searches on various vehicles. During the said check post, a bus named Chandra Dinga Travels heading towards Dhaka was searched and 24 (twenty-four) bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor called Ice VODKA were recovered from the battery box of the bus. During the transportation of the seized liquor, Zahirul Haque and Sabuj Mia (34), son of the deceased Kalpana Begum of Dakshin Dashani village of Dakshin Matlab police station of Chandpur district, and Rubel Mia (22), son of Abdul Barek and Fatema Khatun of Chaita village of Rangchati union of Kalmakanda police station of Netrokona district, were arrested. A regular case was filed against the arrested accused at Netrokona Sadar police station on 14/03/2025. Thereafter, the accused were handed over to the learned court. (DNC, Netrakona)
